Become a Skills Champion –Help colleagues get ahead!

We’re looking for passionate and curious people to take on an exciting new joint role as a Skills Champion, working in partnership with Lloyds Banking Group and your union (Accord or Unite).
This is a brand-new initiative that flows directly from the Skills and Recognition Agreement between LBG and the recognised unions. It’s all about supporting our members to learn, grow, and get on in their careers – and we want you to be part of it.
Who can apply?
You’ll need to be:
☑ A member of Accord or Unite
☑ In a Grade A, B or C role at LBG
If that’s you, and you’re interested in supporting others to build their skills and confidence, we’d love to hear from you.
What’s a Skills Champion?
Skills Champions are all about helping colleagues in Grades A–C build the skills they need for the future. You’ll:
☑ Be a go-to person for learning and development.
☑ Encourage others to take up new learning opportunities.
☑ Share ideas, test out new programmes, and help shape how skills are promoted across the business.
☑ Link up with the unions and LBG’s learning teams to make sure everyone’s voice is heard.
You don’t need to be a learning expert – just someone who’s interested in development,
good with people, and happy to speak up. You’ll get full training, and LBG will give you 10% of your working week to focus on Skills Champion activity.
This is a brilliant opportunity to make a real difference to your colleagues and help shape a more inclusive, forward-looking workplace.
