Pay 2023
Pay is always a huge focus for Unite each year and we put a lot of work into trying to achieve the best deal possible. You can see our work on our dedicated Pay 2023 Campaign Page.
Covid Pay
Ensured colleagues received 100% of their wage regardless of how the pandemic impacted them. This was a huge lifeline for colleagues, protecting colleagues. We were also able to negotiate paid isolation leave for temp colleagues.

Temp to Perm
Temporary staff are our permanent workers of the future but it can be frustrating waiting for that contract. Within customer services we gained a commitment that between 9 and 12 months of service, competent temps would be made permanent.

Abusive Customers
With the rise in abusive callers during the pandemic we called on the bank to do more to protect colleagues. This led to the abusive customer pilot giving colleagues improved protection and powers to challenge and stop abusive callers.

Staff Mortgage Campaign
When Lloyds announced they were removing the concessionary staff mortgage we campaigned and petitioned to prevent this. We were able to secure a new deal. No other UK bank offers a discounted staff mortgage.

Health & Safety
Unite have been at the forefront of protecting colleagues throught the covid-19 pandemic. From risk assessments, workplace inspections and influencing the policies and protections for colleagues.

Army Reservist Leave
When we found out all other banks gave army reservists 10 days of paid leave compared to the 5 Lloyds provided we raised this issue and quickly got it increased increased!

Living Wage
Unite have been campaigning to ensure Lloyds meet the Living Wage, as well as hitting the target of £10.50 by 2025. As part of Pay 2022 negotiations we secured that target 3 years earlier.
