LBG has today announced the closure of Atlantic Quay, Glasgow which will take place at the end of 2026. LBG workers working at the Glasgow site will move over to the St. Vincent Street office. The exit from Atlantic Quay will commence in H1 2026.
Unite know that today’s announcement will come as a shock for some LBG workers and know that there has been rumors and speculation regarding the future of Atlantic Quay for some time. We also know that changes to bank locations no matter how big or small can have an impact on worker commutes, personal commitments outside of work and also raise anxieties over personal safety. The changes announced today when factoring in how close St. Vincent Street is to Atlantic Quay, hopefully, will calm some anxieties and concerns.
That said, we know change can always be unsettling and we urge all members impacted by today’s announcements to get in touch if they need any help, support or guidance regarding the changes. Contact the Unite in LBG team today via LBG.Support@unitetheunion.org
Unite have been lobbying for more support for workers impacted or displaced by LBGs office closure program, the Unite colleague treatment asks and support which we feel should be implemented for all current and future site changes/closures, are listed below.
Please also take the time to share your views on the current travel and mobility policy, details outlined on the back of this newsletter.
