Day two of the Unite in LBG rep seminar took place yesterday and the team focused on the environmental crisis and how our union can play a vital role in holding the bank and the sector accountable and in ensuring finance is used as a force for good.
The session highlighted the crisis we all face, how we all have a responsibility and how collectively we can demand better - in light of this the team passed the motion to create a Unite in LBG Environmental Committee!
What a start to the Unite in LBG Rep seminar 2024! Yesterday the team reflected on all that we have achieved together as a union since 2021 and the BOLD strides that we’ve collectively taken to build our union in LBG and the numerous wins for workers! Whilst also looking ahead to 2024 and beyond focusing on our members priorities.
This was then followed by a very informative session from Samantha from the Bank Workers Charity who updated reps on the extensive support available to workers in the finance sector.

The second half of day two saw the rep team focus on one of our big member reward proprieties - the 4 day week! 🗓 It was great to be joined by Phil from the @4 Day Week campaign who led a very enlightening and engaging session on how the 4 Day Week can increase business efficiencies, profitability, worker productivity, morale, satisfaction, engagement, improve mental health and well-being, help the environment, lower absence rates and so so much more!
The rep team reconfirmed their determination to double down on this priority and created a 4 Day Week rep working committee to spear head the campaign!
